Welcome!

Welcome to the 2008 - 2009 Season of the Tucson Chamber Orchestra

The Tucson Chamber Orchestra (TCO) is excited to announce its 18th season will open with a piece never before heard in Tucson.  University of Arizona professor Mark Rush will be the featured soloist performing Bach's d-Minor Harpsichord Concerto – on Violin.

"This concert will be the culmination of a summer of extremely hard work," says TCO Players Committee member Randi Roessler.  "With the untimely departure of our music director mid last season, we weren't even sure if we'd have an 18th season.  Lucky for us, we have an amazing Concertmaster (and now interim Music Director), Ellen Chamberlain, who really stepped up to the plate and planned an amazing season for us.  This concert is sure to be the beginning of a new era for the TCO!"

The concert, to take place Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church, will also feature Guest Conductor Bruce Chamberlain. Chamberlain will conduct the TCO for Respighi's Trittico Botticelliano and Stravinsky's rarely performed Dumbarton Oaks, which is loosely based on Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, which the group will also perform.  Tickets can be purchased by calling (520) 401-4369 and are on sale now.

The Tucson Chamber Orchestra is Tucson's only non-profit, professional chamber orchestra.  TCO performs rarely-heard works for small orchestra and continually features contemporary works with an emphasis on Arizona and Southwestern composers.  TCO is an Artist-In-Residence with the Arizona Commision on the Arts and provides outreach music programs to local schools.
